Where the hazards come from
- Broken and missing tile: sharp edges and holes catch shoes and cart wheels.
- Loose tile: tiles that rock or shift underfoot throw people off balance.
- Empty grout joints: low joints hold water and grease right where people walk.
- Standing water: damaged areas do not drain, so water sits on the floor through a busy shift.
Why it gets worse over time
Damaged areas do not stay small. Water gets under the tile through open joints and loosens the tiles around it, so one bad spot turns into a wider hazard. The busiest areas, the cook line and dish area, wear out first, and those are exactly where your crew moves fastest.
Fix it before someone gets hurt
Replacing broken tile and refilling the joints gives your crew a flat, solid, draining floor again. We do the work overnight with fast-setting grout and materials, so there is no wet grout or loose tile when your prep crew arrives in the morning.
